My passion for Track and Field started around the time I turned six years old. My parents played a key role in supporting and encouraging pursuing my ambition in sports during yearly visits to Uganda our native country. In Uganda, Walking, running or riding a bicycle is the norm. Therefore my ambition for running was enhanced by the prevailing mode of transportation.
I discovered my love for running after many early morning sessions with my uncle an avid runner who played a part in encouraging me to pursue my dream. I always looked forward to my next holiday to run with him which enhanced my capacity to becoming a competitive athlete.
I welcomed high school challenges, and worked hard to prepare to compete at the highest level. In fact, I run one of my best personal times in the 500M race where I finished sixth position for the Maryland 2020 states meet indoor season. I have learned the core values of playing with integrity, appreciation, and respect for my peers.
My passion is to compete at the highest level. I am not yet satisfied. I just don’t want to win states; I want to build more skills to full fill my inner desire to get to the Olympics. My mission is to broaden my skills academically, and physically, to a professional level, and become a sports coach.
