I've always been very competitive. In my freshman year, I tried out for basketball but didn't make the team. I decided to try track instead, and was surprised to find a community and competition that gave me a new passion. I am also very versatile and willing to do whatever needs to be done, whether for the team's, or my own success. I started off as a sprint hurdler due to my build, but decided to try my hand at the 300m. I was able to run a promising time, to which the coaches took notice. I was asked if I would run the 300 as I could find some success there and score points for the team. Although I hated how difficult longer distances were, I agreed, realizing I could help out not only myself, but the team too. I continued in both the 300m and the 55m hurdle, even running a respectable 600m when the team needed it. Through this trial, I found my specialty, mid distance and the 400m hurdle, where I am currently finding success for myself and my team.
I also am very serious about my academics and am most interested in the STEM fields. I've always taken pride in working hard and challenging myself as much as I can in school. Even since middle an elementary school, I was among the smartest in my class, scoring exceptionally high on the MCAS test, as well as being placed in the highest difficulty classes when they were split up. Going into high school, I took the highest level honors core classes available to me. I opted for AP Statistics sophomore year, scoring a 4 on the AP test. I then continued to my junior year, and although warned about the difficulty, took honors pre-calculus, along with AP Physics, AP Language and Composition, and AP Biology. Even through vast difficulties, I have been able to put in the work to remain consistently successful in all of my classes.
