Jonah Roberts '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jonah Roberts and I have been running track since I was in seventh grade. My two primary events are the 100 (11.00 FAT) and 200 (22.21 FAT). Typically,, my other two events are the 4x100 and 4x400, but I have also competed in the 400, 4x200, and long jump. I am a multi-sport athlete. Other than track I also play football, basketball, and baseball. I have been very successful athletically and academically. In track, I have been All-State three times. My junior year I was second in the 100 m dash, and fourth in the 200 m dash. My sophomore year I was eighth in the 100 m dash. I have qualified for state six times (sophomore year-100, 200, junior year-100, 200, 4x1,  4x4). I am also a 7x conference champion (2x 100, 2x 200, 1x 4x100, 1x 4x200, 1x 4x400). I have also had success in other sports. In football I’ve earned 1st Team All-State RB, 2x First Team All-Conference, and 2x All-District. In basketball, I’ve earned All-Conference Honorable Mention, and First Team All-Conference. In the classroom I have been just as successful. I scored a 25 on my ACT and I am ranked 1st in my class a 3.977 unweighted gpa. Lastly, I am involved in extracurricular activities beyond athletics. I am in NHS, student council, and I am the class president. 

I have many qualities that would make me a great fit for your track team. I believe the most important of my qualities are my work ethic, my attitude, and my love and passion for running track. I aspire to never let anyone outwork me and to constantly improve. Despite playing other sports year round, I make sure to make time to get track workouts in during the summer, fall, and winter no matter how hot or cold it may be. I am very coach-able and have a team-based attitude. Everything I do is to benefit the team in the best way I possibly can. I am committed to the weight room and sprint training. Lastly, I am goal-oriented so that I can always be the best that I can be.
