Hey Coach,
My name is James Hoffman. In college, I hope to join a running program and continue my competitive running career. I plan on studying history for my Bachelor's so that I can make it into Law School and get my Master's in law so that I can become a lawyer. I make a great candidate for the program because I am a great all-around person. I am a devout Christian. I have been attending Catholic school ever since Pre-K. I am grateful that I was brought up in a religious environment.
I am a very experienced runner, having started with track in 3rd grade. I have always been gifted with speed, ever since I was born. I felt I was destined to become a runner, even though my parents were not too big on running when they were younger. I am also a very diverse runner. I was always a sprinter and did soccer in the fall instead of cross-country (I was also great at soccer my whole life, playing on a travel team). That started to change sophomore year when I got really good at the 400m and then I was considered a sprinter/mid-distance runner. My coaches convinced me to do cross-country my junior year to make me a better mid-distance runner. So I did it and it has changed me. I was also great at cross-country. So, now I am a sprinter, mid-distance runner, and a long distance runner.
Even though I do value athletic abilities a lot, I value character more. I am nice and am respectful of all people. I am honest and strive to do good. I am also a hard worker, which means I try my best. When I am not satisfied with my results, I work harder until I get the results I want. I am very dedicated to anything I do, whether it be academics or athletics. No matter how tough of a situation I am in, I never give up. I am also great at cooperating with and understanding others, especially when it comes to coaches and teammates. I put other's needs and feelings before mine.
I would be honored if you chose me to be in your running program. Thank you for your time. If you have any questions or would like to talk to me personally, you can call, text, or email me. You can also contact my coaches. FYI: I also have accounts for MileSplit and Athletic.net.
