Peyton Consigli '21 Recruiting Profile

My  name is Peyton Consigli and I was born on April 7,2003.  My current residence is in Fonthill (Niagara), Ontario and I am the youngest sibling to my older brother and two sisters.  I have been a multi-sport athlete since the age of four (4) years old; my introduction to sports was box lacrosse which then transitioned me to basketball and baseball.

I graduated elementary school in June 2017 as an honour student and received the 2017 Male Athlete of the Year Award.  My first year of high school was at Notre Dame College Prep School in Welland, Ontario Canada.  For my sophomore year, I transferred to St. Francis High School, Hamburg, NY because I was seeking greater challenges in my academic and athletic pursuits.  Throughout high school, I continue to be an honour-roll student while actively participating as a senior varsity tri-athlete in volleyball, basketball and baseball. 

My dual citizenship affords me the flexibility of playing for sports teams in Canada and the USA.  I played Ontario Basketball Association (OBA) basketball at a progressively competitive level with Welland Warriors, St. Catharines Rebels, UPLAY Canada; and was selected to play on numerous All Star basketball teams.  In 2018, I was sponsored by NIKE with Made Hoops. 

Prior to joining the Great Lake Canadians baseball organization in late-2016, I played with the Hamilton Cardinals leading them to become the 2016 Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) Champions.  I received the Pitcher of the Tournament Award, Hitter of the Tournament Award and MVP of the Tournament Award.  Prior to the Cardinals, I was the starting short stop/pitcher with the St. Catharines Cobras and we earned back-to-back seasonal championship titles.  In addition, I  also recieved the 2012 Niagara District Championship title and Golden Glove Award with the Welland Mustangs.  Like my brother who played with the Oakland A’s MLB organization immediately following his high school graduation, I played with two American teams and separately represented Ohio at the USA Baseball Tournament in 2014.

I was raised to be a kind, respectful and considerate person who always does the right thing and will not hesitate to go out of my way to help someone.

Ever since I was young, I have always wanted to play college basketball. I am a good candidate for your team because I am a “coachable” player who will listen and focus on the details of the coach’s strategy to be able to immediately implement his direction in the game.  Respect for my coach is high and I welcome constructive feedback in order to improve my overall basketball abilities and be the best-possible team player I can be. 

I am recognized as an excellent leader who knows how to give constructive criticism and encourage people verses yelling at them and putting them down.  My determination to succeed and maintain a strong work ethic are important to me.  My family has the motto: "To be successful, you have do the things that other people don't want to do". I have great time management abilities and am able to balance my school commitments while maintaining honor roll status and playing varsity-level sports.

I have an amazing family that supports me 110% in everything I do; they have made great sacrifices to get me where I am today and I will always appreciate what they have done for me.
