As a collegiate athlete I want to be part of a team that has a competitive atmosphere. My love of running and commitment to the discipline of the sport originated from teammates who encouraged and inspired me, and coaches that share a love of hard work. As an upperclassman on my current team I have lost some of the teammates that pushed me to be faster and better. I want to be part of a collegiate team that has depth and allows me to be pushed by coaches and teammates alike. Likewise I want the chance to encourage my teammates to exceed their potential. I want to to respect my teammates for their competitiveness and discipline, and have coaches that continue to push me to meet and exceed my potential. Academically and athletically I am okay being uncomfortable if it allows me the chance for growth. Many experiences I have had in high school in which I was uncomfortable opened up amazing leadership and athletic opportunities that I could have missed if I stayed in my comfort zone. I recognize that I have room for growth as an athlete, student and teammate and am excited to have a coaching staff and team that will provide that opportunity.
