Personal Statement

In 2014, I started third grade when I would join a 5K program called Let Me Run. This program would change my life as far as I know. I was extremely hyperactive and need an outlet for my energy, and running was the prefect solution. I practiced two or three times a week with friends I loved being around and a coach who pushed me to be my best. This program got me out of my shell and opened my mind to all the possibilities that my future could hold. It was a truly amazing introduction to my running career.

From there, running surrounded my everyday passion and got me through the ups and downs in life. Entering middle school and high school with actual sport teams that required competition I swiftly found that my passion fueled my heart and desire to become an elite athlete. Now, everyday I wake up, I push myself to be a better person in all the best ways. I am a huge team player and I strive to encourage and push my teammates. I am also an aggressive runner when I need to be as I train hard and race tough through each practice and meet. I am a hungry learner and never pass by the small but crucial tips to become a more efficient and effective runner.

I never want to stop becoming the best version of myself. I strive to do everything I can to push past my limits and show athletes, coaches, and hopefully the world who I am. What started as an enjoyable passion has become something that I never realized would change my life. This journey has led me to step into a new life and career, and I am excited to see where it will take me.

  • SMRC Nike 2023 was an amazing experience that I will never forget. The coaches were extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and they pushed me to be my best. There were a lot of great guest speakers like Corey Mcgee, Cole Hocker, Charles Hicks, Roisin Marie Willis, Juliette Whittaker, and Ben Thomas. These speakers taught me a lot about Cross Country and Track & Field. I made some great friends at the camp who I still keep in touch with since the camp. It was great running with these guys as we were all the same skill level and had similar interest and mindsets on the sport. The counselors were extremely helpful and knowledgeable as well, and our counselor for group 1 was a great inspiration. They go to UNC Chapel Hill, which is really impressive, and I learned and lot from him. For a running camp the campus was beautiful and had a great atmosphere for training but I'm not sure about the school as a full time college experience just because of the size and competitive level of the school. The training sessions were intense but rewarding, and I felt I improved a lot over the course of the camp even though it was a short time frame. Overall, SMRC Nike 2023 was a fantastic opportunity to improve my skills as an athlete and connect with other like-minded individuals.

  • Indoor Adidas Nationals
  • 3/17/23 to 3/19/23
  • Running the Open Mile event and 4*800m event at indoor adidas Nationals 2023 was a dream come true. The competition was intense , but I felt like I was able to rise to the challenge and perform at my best. It was amazing to see all the hard work I had put in over the years pay off in such a big way. I was also really proud to be part of the 4*800 team, and we all worked really well together to achieve our goal of obtaining a medal. Overall indoor adidas Nationals 2023 was an unforgettable experience that I will always cherish.
  • Camp/Event
  • Forward Motion
  • 6/20/22 to 6/23/22
  • Great camp that strengthens an individual as a runner and builds support to the building blocks in one's form and cadence. Injury prevention is also discussed and practiced through the camp week. Physicians and College Coaches came to speak, inform, and introduce important tips to running. The coach himself is great and is an experienced runner.
