GioVaughni Lacy '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello,

My name is GioVaughni (Gio) Lacy, and I live in Cleveland Heights, OH. I am a graduating senior and I attend the Gateway Virtual Academy, and I am a member of the Cleveland Heights-University Heights (CHUH) track team. 

I have participated in traveling track and field clubs since I was eight years old, and I have been a member of my school’s track teams since middle school. During the 2021-2002 school year, I was a member of the SPIRE Institute (Geneva, OH) Track Club, and I participated in several day-long and week-long track and field camps at the SPIRE.

Throughout my track and field career, I have trained and competed in running and jumping events. Over the past year 2 years, I have competed on my high school’s varsity team, and I have competed in district, regional, and national AAU competitions, and locally in USATF competitions. During the 2022 outdoor season, I was on my high school’s 4x400 and 4x100 relay teams (I typically ran the third leg), and the 4x100 team advanced to the state championships. My best times, distances, and heights over the past year are Long Jump – 22.7’, Triple Jump – 44.3’, High Jump- 5’10”, 200m – 22.8 seconds, 110m Hurdles – 14.5 seconds. I enjoy being a T&F athlete, and I look forward to further developing my talent and skills.
