What's up? My name is Evan McMillan and I will be going into grade 12 at Port Perry High School this September. I made honor roll this current year. I plan on going to college for Fire Fighting. I will be Co-Oping at Port Perry Fire Hall my first semester and will also get a Specialist High Skills Major in Health Care. I will be Port Perry High Schools Co-Athletic Head and am also a member on S.T.A.R (Students Together Against Racism).
I have won many awards in sports, such as various tournement M.V.P's for volleyball and basketball (both school and rep). I was named Male Athlete of the Year my grade 8 year in 2009. I have been named athlete of the month at my high school for volleyball, and was named PPHS Jr. Boys Basketball Captain and M.V.P in 2011. For my old rep. basketbball team, The Whitby Saints, I was rewarded the Hustle Award in 2009, and Most Sportman-like in 2011.
The teams I have played on have all been successful. In my middle school years, I helped lead my Co-Ed Volleyball team to a Durham Area Finalist medal. I also won a X-Country Race and came 5th in Durahm for Triple Jump and 2nd in 200m hurdles. For my high school sports, my volleyball team has made it to L.O.S.S.A finals every year I've been on it, and we've won 2/3 years. Our rugby and basketball teams weren't the best, but I did lead in points for both those sports. I have a Bronze Medal in triple jump for L.O.S.S.A, and that was with only 2 weeks of practise.
My goal is to be successful. No matter what it is in. I want to be the best firefighter I can be. I also would like to medal in OFSAA (All Ontario) for triple jump. For the past 2 months I have been going to the track almost everyday, working up my speed for roughly an hour, and then going to the gym for a 2 hour workout. Once I get back to school and get proper coaching and facilities again I will start working on technique again. I will not stop until history will remeber me.
