Jacob Nelson, Sop...Personal Statement
In 8th grade, my second year of throwing, I became very interested in track and field, which allowed me to recognize a potentially successful future ahead of me in throwing. I started to love the sport and achieved several victories in meets, which, in turn, made me work harder and love throwing even more.
Through competitions, I learned that I can overcome obstacles I once thought I never could, such as reaching and competing at the state level as a sophomore. One significant goal of mine is to not only receive a strong post-secondary education but to also be successful as a college-level athlete.
