Hi there! My name is Anthony “Tony” Marchetti, and I am an athlete for Tamaqua Area who competes in Cross Country and Track and Field. I have been running since elementary school and started running competitively since 7th grade forward. I was not born into someone who you know as a natural runner, I had to achieve success rather than just having it. It wasn’t until Sophmore year of high school that I had potential in running. Sophomore year was the year that I first made States for Cross Country for Pennsylvania and was the league All Star in my division that year. Likewise, in Track and Field, I made Leagues for the 1600m and 3200m. That was what truly gave me the confidence from there on forward. My future goals for running are to make States for the next two years for cross country and to make districts for the 3200m in Track and Field. In academics, I am an Honor Student with a GPA of 3.45 and in hopes of getting a 3.7 or higher. I do take Honor classes and want to exceed on and off the playing field. Once graduated out of High School my dream is to go to a 4 year college majoring in Sports Management. I know I can do anything that I put my mind to, and want to prove that I am worth something and someone who does not give up on their dream. I know that practice does make perfect. Because if you are not born with a talent, but want to achieve that talent, you have to strive for it. I know that I have potential yet to achieve greater success.
