Jaden Griggs '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello, My name is Jaden Griggs. I have loved track and cross country since I was in the 6th grade. High school has been great, but I don't want my journey with track to end here. College track is a dream of mine that I would love to accomplish. I aspire to be the hardest working and fastest runner possible, achieving and breaking my goals. My drive and my focus is always to become the best I can possibly be while pushing my teammates to be the best they can be also.

I believe I would be a good candidate for a college team because I will do whatever is asked of me. I will help inspire my teammates on and off the track, and I will put 110% of my effort into the team and into my academic studies. I will always put my teammates and the track community before myself--every single time. 

The past two years of my life have been the most difficult years I have experienced. When Covid took away my sophomore season and the first half of my junior season, I was devastated, but I didn't stop training. I got out there every day. I was out improving my running and making myself a better person. In my junior year, in spite of the cancelled season and minimal organized practices, I was able to overcome the obstacles and attain multiple personal records.

With being in virtual school, I struggled mentally for months. I became depressed and felt like giving up, and my grades started to fall away. But I didn't give up. I picked myself up and pushed through it and gave my schoolwork my all until the end. I was able to bring myself out of my bad mental state and focus my efforts on my academics. Because of that, in my senior year I'm experiencing the best grades I've had so far.  

With all this being said, I will give my all for your team and for my schoolwork. I will be an excellent team player and will add value to your team. I will do whatever is asked of me, listening to your guidance and leadership. I will not let you down and will run for you with everything I've got in me. Thank you for your time.
