Donovan Hawkins '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Donovan Hawkins and I am currently a senior at Natalia High School. I started track in 7th grade but I can confidently say that I fell in love with the sport and the competition when I ran my first varsity race my freshman year. That year, I ran on the varsity 4x4 team that went all the way to compete in area. I would also go out to AAU summer track and compete there. The next year, my sophemore year, I went to regionals and ran my best race at the time there. During this season, I would also qualify to regionals for the 400 during AAU summer track. I was constantly improving every year, but when the COVID outbreak hit, it really set me back. My junior season had gotten cancelled very early so that only left me my senior year. So far this year, I have already pr'd with a 52.11 during our second meet. I hope to soon break 50 seconds in the 400 by the end of this season and at this rate, I am very confident that it will happen.
