Matthew Mathis '21 Recruiting Profile

As an aspiring College Student athlete I want to find a college that has the best education for me as well as a strong place to further my athletic career. I have worked hard throughout my high school career up to this point, and my coach has given me the realization of running in College and the idea really interesting me. While I never dreamed about anything like this, I believe it would be a very good opportunity to continue to work hard in an environment where I am being pushed by coaches to be the best I can be every single day. One really important thing about me is that I value a school that cares about student athletes as well but also pushing them to be as good as possible. While I enjoy track, and Cross country I believe it is important to have a balance between that and the classroom. Academics are very important to me because ultimately that is what will decide what I do for the rest of my life. Many times, when reflecting on this possibility I get a little bit excited, and relax, but to me the chance to compete at the next level would be something extraordinary.
