I started vaulting outdoor season of my freshman year and began to gain interest in the sport through my sophomore year. Junior year I studied abroad in Norway and pole vaulted with Cathrine Larsåsen who was the previous Norwegian record holder for women vaulters. She inspired and coached me through my year abroad. During my academic year abroad, not enough of my classes transferred allowing me to retake my Junior year. Our track team does not have a coach, but I bring poles to a neighboring school and vault. I’ve been to 2 meets this year and my current PR is 13 feet. As I continue training I look to increase my PR throughout my Junior and Senior year.
