When I started running track the winter of my freshman year in high school, I just participated to stay in shape before baseball tryouts in the spring. However, after my first meet, I discovered a new passion for track competitions, and I dropped baseball to focus solely on my academics and track. As a sprinter, my personal record in the 100M dash was a 12.84 my freshman year. I was not content with my time, so the following offseasons I devoted most of my free time towards training and educating myself about the biomechanics of sprinting while maintaining above a 4.0 GPA. Soon, my motivation, discipline, consistent work ethic, and strong will to assist my teammates allowed me to drop my 100M pr by 1.19 seconds in a year and a half, and I am now the team captain.
My most important short-term goal is to advance my education and athletics beyond the high school level, and I have a passion for pursuing this vision of success. I understand the level of commitment it will take to perform at the next level and I'm definitely ready to take on the challenge. I have completely devoted myself to achieving this dream and removing all distractions until I accomplish it.
