As a child I grew up not knowing what brought me purpose in life. I lived through divorce, death, adversity and many other things that have turned into the most beneficial experiences I’ve been through. Although my pain wasn’t always my guidance, It took athletics to show me that some of the most difficult times in life can turn into wisdom through a positive outlook. Starting out playing baseball as a child I began to understand the importance of a person’s character. Divorce and death translated to mental toughness and grit; and adversity taught me understanding and acceptance. I became a leader to my past teammates and in hopes to my future ones.
I also began to understand the importance of a person’s intelligence. I fell in love with improving my knowledge and my understanding of our world. Education became my addiction, feeding me information that continues to influence me, and recently has pushed me to become much more engaged in school. I understand my lack of effort throughout high school has clearly been reflected in my inconsistent grades, but I’m striving towards improving everyday. I plan on having a 3.5+ cumulative gpa by the end of my senior year and I would love to continue pursuing my academics and athletics in college.
