Personal Statement

My name is Kyle Petermann and I am an upcoming Senior at Clintonville HIgh School in Clintonville, Wisconsin. I am a solid student and a dedicated and determined athlete. My goals are to select a 4 year college that has a strong computer/math program and to compete in Men's Track and Field at the college level. I have been a thrower since sixth grade. As a Freshman, I made it to sectionals in the discus and my best throw of the season was 138' 9. My best shot throw was 38' 8.75 I advanced to sectionals in both the shot put and discus my sophomore year. I broke our school discus record that had been standing since 1953. My best throws were 151'7 in the discus and 45'8 in the shot. After spending considerable time in the weight room, I had a very successful Junior year. I was the Eastern Valley Conference Champion in both the shot and the discus and I was also named our conference's MVP Field Athlete. I qualified for and competed in our state meet in La Crosse, placing 3rd in the discus and 10th in the shot put. Over the course of the season I had broken the shot and discus records 4 times each. My season bests were 172' 10 for the discus and 51' 10.75 for the shot. My track goals are to continue to build upon last season. I am determined to increase my distances by spending time in the weight room and working on my throwing technique. My ultimate student athlete goals are get a good education and to compete at the college level in track and field.
