Varchas Athreya '24 Recruiting Profile

As a 6 foot tall Outside Hitter, I'm on the shorter end compared to the competition. Because of this, I've learned what it means to really work hard every day to keep my body in shape and work on my vertical. I understand that volleyball is so much more than just a physical game, where decision making, court awareness, and the ability to bring lots of energy onto the court are all equally as important to a good student athelete. Having played club and school volleyball for the past 3 years, I've learned about how although volleyball may call for proficient time-management skills to manage the load of school and weekly practices but I think volleyball really brings new energy and motivation in my life and I don't think I could do without it.
