Personal Statement
I am 6’4” with an athletic 175 lb. build. I am a two year varsity starter. I played with an older age group at the 2017 BJNC on Pipeline VBC’s 17UA team, and I was a recent participant in the 2017 USAV High Performance Championships competing on the select A1 Continental Red team. My deepest aspiration is to play volleyball at the collegiate level. I have been a multi-sport athlete from a very young age and this year, I decided to focus on volleyball exclusively and will not be continuing my basketball career. This would have been my second year as a varsity player, however, this decision will increase the time I am able to devote to volleyball. I consistently challenge myself and I take pride in being the hardest worker in whatever setting I am in.
Off of the court, I currently have a 4.45 GPA (3.9 unweighted) with a challenging workload. As a junior, I am enrolled in all AP classes, with the exception of one honors class. I am looking for a school to match my academic and athletic skill set. I do not have a specific major in mind at this point, however I am interested in the math and science fields with both pre-medical studies and engineering as top choices. Geographically, I am willing to travel most of the United States to find the right school that parallels my needs and gives me the best overall opportunity. Ideally, I would like to compete at the D1 or D2 level. I understand the importance of being a well-rounded student athlete and, as a result, I put substantial effort into balancing my time with school, family and sports. Additionally, I have completed over 100 volunteer hours in the past year as well as participated in several clubs and school activities.
