When I was younger, I always thought of volleyball as a boring slow moving game, and I never had an interest in watching my older sister play because of how much I disliked the sport. As I grew older I realized volleyball is much more than just not letting a ball touch the ground. I fell in love with volleyball in 7th grade and haven’t lost my passion since I stepped onto the court for the first time. There are countless days where I’ve gone to practice an hour early to just work on my skills to better myself. Volleyball is a part of who I am now and I’m never going to give that up. It is always on my mind and I always look for ways to make myself better on and off the court. My coaches always tell me that I’m a Student-athlete, but to never forget that being a student comes before being an athlete. I value my academics more than anything as succeeding in school sets you up for a lifetime of success. I value my hard work, resilience, and my eagerness to be a successful person on the court and off of it as well.
