Matthew Brown '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Matthew Brown, I am a 6 foot 3 left handed setter from Manitoba Canada. In the past year, I have worked very hard through school, and athletics to become a top player in my age category. My dream since I started to fall in love with volleyball, was to play in the US playing D1 ball. I believe I bring a strong presence onto the court, bringing leadership and knowledge into any game I play. I run a dynamic and efficient offence, bringing success to my team anywhere I play. My dominant left hand allows me to be an offensive setter in a way that not many other setters can. Apart from my on court skills, I focus in the classroom, and get very good grades through my high school career. I have been recognized by Olympian athletes TJ Sanders and Dustin Watten as one of the top 6 setters in the country going into my junior year. Over the last several months, I have had informal conversations with a few Canadian University head coaches, and have been told that I am being talked about around USPORTS by most every school in the country. Many coaches I have played for can attest to my work ethic on and off the court. I believe I can play at the highest level of volleyball for the years to come. I have been regarded by several coaches and members in the Canadian volleyball community as the best setter in the country for my age, and I believe I can lead any team to the next level of volleyball.
