Personal Statement
I first became interested in volleyball because my older brother played in high school. I remember in the beginning of my freshman year we played a big rival school and they beat us badly. The very next day I told my coaches that I wanted to put in the extra time and do whatever it takes to make sure we never lose like that again. I pushed myself from that day forward to be the best player on the court everyday; my coach and teammates needed me. I realized at that point that the reason I was playing was no longer due to by older brother; it was because of my love of the game! Two weeks after my commitments and hard work we played another experienced program and lost. This did not break my spirit. I found that it merely made me more committed and stronger. We did finally beat our largest rivals in a rematch. I completed my first year in high school and received the team MVP award from my team and coaches. My reason for playing volleyball is to not be the best on my team, on the court, or in the state but to be the best to ever play. I realize that I will achieve my goal with my desire, commitment, hard work and focus. I want future players that play volleyball to want to wear my jersey number, perhaps I might inspire them to play this game I have grown to love so much. I want to be the best, can be the best and will be the best.
