My name is David Skov ("Davidka"), 16 years old, and I'm a sophomore at De La Salle high school in Concord, CA. My favorite activities are water polo and swimming.
POLO
My water polo career started when I was 5 years old and joined a local splash-ball camp. Since then, I'm three-time silver medalist in the platinum division of the Junior Olympics (2021, 2019, 2017), starter in the 680 Drivers team.
I'm also five-time ODP Pacific Zone player (2019- 2023):
-Member of the 2022 USA National Cadet Team,
-Bronze medalist in the national ODP zones tournament- Cadet age group (2022)
-Member of the 2021 USA National Development Team,
-Gold medalist in the national ODP zones tournament- Development age group (2020), and
-Nick Johnson award recipient (2020).
SWIM
As the best water polo players are also very good swimmers I also train and compete against year round USA swimmers:
- December 2021- Finalist in all 7 events; two-time bronze medalist ( 100f free and 200 fly) at the Junior Olympics Pacific Swim meet; (I had HS water polo so couldn’t train in the Fall 2021 with Year round swimmers, but I’m still finalist in every event)
- December 2019- Highpoint winner at the Junior Olympics Pacific Swim meet. Finalist in all 7 events; six-time gold and one time bronze medalist;
- December 2018- Highpoint runner-up at the Junior Olympics Pacific Swim meet. Finalist in all 7 events; five-time gold and two time silver medalist
Records:
2021- Part of the Terrapins team relay breaking Pacific Zone Age group (14u) records: 400 yards and 200 yards Free relay;
2019- Broke 400 IM Terrapins swim team record;
2018- Broke two Terrapins team records (50 & 100 fly);
I think the above shows that I’m determined to try my hardest in every situation (academic and sport) and not get discouraged even when I’m faced with setbacks. As a scholar-athlete, NCS CIF, I know I not only have the endurance to compete at college level but the characteristic of a good teammate, and I will continue to lead any team by example.

- 680 16 U stats for 2023: • Led 680 16 U team to a 30 -7 record, clinching pacific zone JO qualification title, Futures title, US club champ and Newport invitational silver medals, 4th place in KAP 7 (18 u), and 8th place in JO. • Scored a team high 80 action goals (49.7% shot rate), on 2.3 action goals per game, both ranking 1st within the team (25 more action goals than any other 680 player) • Scored on 34 of 37 games with 22 multi-goals, 20% of all 680 action goals. • Had seven performances with four goals or more, including season-high six goals in a win over Rose Bowl. • Recorded a team leading 79 steals, 25 more than any other 680 player in 16 u division. • Ranked third in assists (38), tied for second in field blocks (8), third in drawing major fouls (32).

My team, 680, placed 6th during the 2022 JO.

- DLS 2021 HS season: As a freshman at De La Salle I played 29 varsity games (averaging 7 mins playtime per game), scored 48 times (70 SH%), with 11 multi-goal performances; and I'm 4th in line for most DLS goals (10.4% of all DLS goals). 16 of our games were against Top 25 HS teams and my stats are: scored 13 goals (57 SH%), assisted 6 times, and earned 4 penalty shots.

- Awards I made the North Coast Section President's List (3.80 - 4.0 GPA unweighted) during the spring 2023-Swim season. I received the President's Award for Educational Achievement (signed by President Trump) because of my high grade point average and high achievement on state testing in May 2019.
