Matthew Ross '19 Recruiting Profile

    My goals and aspirations for my collegiate career are to set up a solid foundation for my life after college, thus giving me the chance to have a successful future. I would love to play water polo during college, it has always been my passion.  I'm a good candidate for any team because of my ability to play multiple positions at a high level, for long periods of time, as I am a long distance swimmer and take pride in my endurance.  Helping my team win is also very important to me, whether that means scoring or setting up teammates to score.  Overall team success is my primary focus, being able to take a supportive role when needed is a quality that not a lot of athletes have and what sets me apart from many other athletes, I am willing to do whatever it takes for the success of the team.  I'm also willing to put in the extra time in order to improve and to take calculated risks even when no one else will which also sets me apart from a lot of other athletes, in sports and in school.  One thing that has always been important to me is maintaining good character, because it has been instilled in my brain since I was little that those who have good character will succeed, this makes it easy for me to get along with teammates, coaches and classmates making me an asset as an all-around team player both athletically and academically.  The thing that truly sets me apart from other athletes, is dedication, seeing things through to the end once I have made the commitment is something that I have always done, it is what has made me successful through my high school career and what will propel me through a successful college experience.
