My name is Miles Nicewanner. I am a member of a military family that has moved around the world. I have lived in Nebraska, Mississippi, Japan and California before the age of 11. In 2019, Santa Maria, California became home. I have been a swimmer my entire life and took up water polo in 2019. I love the intensity of the sport, and I desire to play at the collegiate level. I am a utility player for Channel Islands United (Santa Barbara Premier) and Righetti High School. I have attended multiple water polo camps at Pepperdine University, University of California Santa Barbara, the United States Naval Academy. I look forward to any opportunity to learn and grow as a player. My team just placed 13th in the 14U platinum division at the 2023 Junior Olympics. It was an amazing experience and I look forward to competing next year.
Outside the pool, I am a determined student looking to graduate with honors and am a member of multiple clubs at school. My parents have taught me to always help out and contribute to our community. I am a camp counselor and volunteer at the local animal shelter and am looking to work with veterans in need. Other activities I enjoy are scuba diving, snowboarding, playing tennis, long distance running and lifting weights.
