2022-23 Highlights Personal Statement
I am a leader that is dedicated to playing water polo. I am Bobby Cook and I am a water polo goalie. I am from Oakville High school in St. Louis, Missouri and I am graduating class of 2025. I am truly addicted to the sport. I love the rush, I love the hustle, and I love leading my team.
Ever since I have started, I have been giving my best effort in the water. I enjoy showing up and working hard both physically and mentally. This is shown through my appraisal by my coaches and peers. I have started on varsity since my first year and have gotten most improved in the same season. I am remembered for my talent, grit, and effort in and out of the water. My presence is always felt in a positive way with my teammates when I am around.
Often, I am asked how I feel about playing goalie. And I always respond with “I love it”. The mentality and attitude you have to have fits my game style perfectly. Being the “quarterback for counters” of the team and the leader on defense makes my position more thrilling for my team and I.
Meanwhile at school, I always give my best effort. Currently, I am taking college classes full time as a junior at my local community college.
