Personal Statement

I am a 5'8" sophomore pitcher/utility player at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa and I am from Fairbanks, AK. My cumulative GPA is a 3.88. I have completed my freshman season of softball and am in the middle of my sophomore season right now. Last year, I made the All-Midwest Region 1st Team, was a NFCA 2nd Team All-American, and made the Academic All-Region Team. I ended the season with a .420 batting average, a .786 slugging percentage (18th in the nation), 28 walks, a .534 on base percentage (17th in the nation), 12 home runs, 55 hits, and 55 RBI's all in 167 plate appearances and 45 games.

This fall ball season, I ended with a batting average of .730 and 10 home runs in 16 games.

So far this season in 48 games I'm hitting .446, slugging .973, an on base % of .551 with 33 walks, 66 hits which include, 19 doubles, 19 home runs, 71 RBI's, and have hit safely in all but five games.

My goal is to carry on my softball career at a four-year university once I am done here at Indian Hills. I would love to go to any school that would give me the opportunity to continue playing softball at a competitive college level and earn a great education. I have a strong passion for the game of softball and I am confident that I can compete at any level. Ever since I was little I have wanted to play collegiate softball. I have fully recovered from my knee surgery 4 years ago and am now at 100%. My strength has helped me become a power hitter, hitting 12 home runs my freshman year last year. My strength in softball is my ability to hit for a high average and power. I can play anywhere in the infield. I am open to any school where I can play competitive softball, and can major in Education. It is very important to me that I am able to major in Education.
