Personal Statement
Throughout my life, a strong bond and family values have helped me become the person I am today. My brother played t-ball and I remember that I knew I wanted to play t-ball too. My parents let me play and from the minute I stepped foot on the field, took my first swings with the bat, fielded my first balls, and learned how to throw, I knew I wanted to be a ball player. With the challenges of facing competition, I have learned that I thrive in competitive environments. Knowing that I am constantly competing against someone better than me is what drives me to work harder and become the best that I can be. Academics have always played an important role in my life. I firmly believe that challenging the mind is as equally as important as challenging the body. Unlike a lot of the players I have played with in the past, I never felt like I possessed natural athletic ability. This challenge only made me want to work harder. My goal in life is to be part of something bigger than myself, whether it be in a team environment or in my future professional life.
