Becoming the 2017 CIF Sac-San Joaquin Section, Division 1 Softball Champions was a bonus to the highlight of my High School carrier thus far. You would think that being the only Freshman to make the Varsity softball team would have been the highlight, but it is not. My highlight was being able to practice, learn, grow and compete with my upper class-men. I was a sponge that season, absorbing everything I could. I was grateful to be awarded Most Improved Player at the end of the season.
My Sophomore year I grew the most as a person and student athlete. A year were I would have been a Starter, but unforeseen circumstances at the start of the season changed things. I was not able to be on the field with my team for half the season, but I was able to support them in other ways. I attended every practice, game and tournament being their cheerleader, uplifting support and to help keep their heads in the game. This experience made me refocus and challenge myself to get back on track to play at the college level.
Through this sport I have learned commitment, sacrifice, motivation, discipline, teamwork and found my passion. I am at home playing softball. I would love a college program that would fit me athletically, academically and would appreciate someone who would give their all and not be afraid to learn something new. I believe that I have the skills to compete for a college level team, but also the character and work ethic that would benefit your program.
