Since I was seven years old, I have wanted to play college softball after I was able to see a game at Stanford University. The grit, passion, and dedication I was able to experience first hand drove home my aspirations to play. My athletic career in softball began when I was four years old, and has grown ever since. Today, I am an All-WCAL first team starter on my high school team as a freshman, as well as a starting first baseman for my travel softball team. I am an intense player with strong mental acumen for the game, and I will continue to do whatever it takes to get better. I have been training with a personal trainer 2-3 times a week, as well as hitting and fielding every day. My collegiate goals include the desire to graduate in four years with exceptional grades at a school with a strong academic program, and a student body with an immense amount of school spirit. I am a good candidate for a college's team because of my drive, that I have displayed not just in softball, but also in my academics. I am different from most prospective athletes in that I have made my academics a main focus in my life. I have never received a B on a report card, in any class - regular or honors, since 4th grade, when letter grades were first given out. I have been known to give up a weekend studying for a big test, which has definitely paid off for me in the long run and has taught me the art of commitment. Outside of school, my family and faith are very important to me, as they are both my "rock" during hard times. My family is a tight knit athletic family, and they have instilled in me a strong work ethic, as well as an ability to grow and build strong relationships with all of my teammates, or my extended family, through positive communication and dependability. Through my faith, I have learned the importance of giving back to the community, which is why I joined organizations like National Charity League in seventh grade. By doing these inspirational and enjoyable charity events, I have matured tremendously as a person, and learned the way to live a fulfilling life. Bottom line, I am a hardworking, very coachable athlete who is willing to compete and go the 'extra mile' not only on the field but in the classroom. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this, and for your potential interest in me.
