Personal Statement

I am a very social, independent and confident person.  Athletics have always come easy for me and I discovered my passion for softball at a very early age.  I have played on some highly competitive teams and that experience has pushed me to be the best in all aspects of my life.  I made my high school varsity team as a freshman but I wanted more than that, I wanted to contribute as well.  There were 9 seniors and earning playing time was difficult, especially as a freshman.  When I got my opportunities I tried to make the most of them and show the coaches that I could help the team be successful.  By the middle of the year I was starting in left field and hitting in the bottom half of the lineup.  When we played our State playoff game I started in center field and batted third, driving in the only run we scored that day.

In my sophomore season I took more of a leadership role with my high school team.  We were very young and thin at pitcher, making it a more challenging season than the prior year.  I spent time at all the outfield positions and had a strong showing at our only tournament event in Ocala, FL.  Our season ended in our second district game and was disappointing from a team perspective but I felt that I got stronger and improved my game in all aspects.

I now play for a very talented Gold Coast Hurricanes-Cooper team out of Ft. Lauderdale to continue pushing myself to be the best softball player I can be.  This is the top team in the GCH organization and they compete nationally at PGF, ASA Nationals and the Junior Olympic Cup.  We will be competing in the major tournament and showcase events across the country.  My college goal is to major in Communications and to be a sports reporter after that.  It has always been my dream to play softball in college and to help reduce the financial burden on my parents.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
