Hi, my name is Savannah Pollock. I currently a senior at Charlton County High School. I have played softball since I was eight years old. I am a true utility player. I've been a starter all four years. Freshman year me being the starting 1st baseman and the last three the starting catcher. My years at Charlton County High School I have accumulated the following softball awards: most improved player, honorable mention, hustle award, offensive MVP, Region 2A All-Academic, and 1st team All-Region player. I have also participated on the slowpitch softball team as a center fielder. In slowpitch softball, I received the offensive/defensive MVP award. I also have also started on the varsity 4x100m relay team in track for the school, receiving the leadership award.
School has always been the main priority for me. I focus on my grades before anything else. Therefore, I have been awarded for my academic achievements. These awards are A honor roll since kindergarten to present and top 10% the last 3 years. I also am very involved in my school clubs. In these clubs, I am the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) president, Future Farmers of America (FFA) secretary, Student Ambassador, 9th and 11th-grade class president, and member of the Beta Club
When I was eight years old, my sister wanted me to play recreational softball. I chose to continue playing this sport because it helped me cancel out the distractions of the real world, but it has given me a true platform to build longlasting relationships with real friends. Softball has given me a filed to reap and sow blessing WITH others. When I step on the field, my mind is focused on the stability of the family playing on the field alongside me. This sport is not only a fun activity for me but also a way to push myself. In doing so, I have overcome so many obstacles during my softball career. The obstacles were more mentally difficult than physically, but I always put my faith in God and knew my obstacles were in His hands before I doubted my abilities. Thus, creating in me a person who plays for the girls beside me not for the self-centered desires within me.
