2019
My name is Summer Frye, I’m currently a sophomore at Northwest Florida State Junior College playing softball on a full scholarship. I will graduate in May with an Associate of Arts Degree with a GPA of 3.7. My hometown is Jesup, GA and I played High School softball at Wayne County.
I have played many positions over my softball career in travel ball, high school and now college. At NWFS I started and played right field in 55 out of 56 games as a freshman. My batting average was over .300, I tied for 2nd on RBI’s with 44 and was 3rd on the team for home runs with 8. Unfortunately, I tore my Mencius this fall (2018) and had to have surgery, so I have had very limited playing time this year. I am in recovery right now with physical therapy and will be cleared to play in May.
In high school I played on some great teams with elite 8 finishes 3 out of my four years. I started and played all four years in high school and was selected 1st team all-region four years and 1st team all-state my last three years. I was also the Region Player of the year my junior year.
It’s kinda crazy, but being injured this season has made me really appreciate the opportunity to play college softball and I’m ready to get back on the field and compete! I believe with my experience and skills I could find my role and contribute to an already talented roster. Softball is an important part of my life and I will continue to work hard to be the best I can be for myself and my team.

2016
My name is Summer Frye, and I all I have ever wanted to do was to be on a softball field somewhere. I live to play ball, and I consider the field my home. My dream has always been to play college level softball, so I can continue to play the game I love.I am willing to work very hard and I am always looking for ways to advance my skills. I want to be able to get a good education, so I can be a productive citizen in our society. I believe in hard work and dedication on and off the field. I believe that hard work does pay off and I am ready to see what the future holds for me. My beliefs can be concluded through Proverbs 13:4 "The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied."
