Dedicated, hard working, focused, great listener and a coachable athlete describe Blair Ritchey. I am a junior at Charleston High School in Illinois. I live in the county and have a background in agriculture and livestock, as I raised goats for 4H for seven years. My father works in agriculture and my mother teaches at a local community college. They have instilled that family values, a strong work ethic and perseverance will get me to my goals. I have been lucky to have a father that devotes his time to work with me and guide me to be the best I can be in softball. I have spent countless hours hitting off the T in my shed, playing pitch and catch with my sister in the yard and many evenings playing homerun derby in the front lawn. Softball is my life and I am passionate about being the best I can be.
My freshman year I played on a state ranked team as the starting third baseman. Sophomore year was the year our team made it to state for the first time in school history. I was the starting shortstop for our team and had great defensive plays to help our team make it to the final four.
I take my school work to heart and have excelled in Honors English II, Honors Chemistry and will take AP Chemistry as a junior. My work ethic is also evident in my school work.
I am excited to see where my next step in softball can take me!
