Personal Statement
My name is Lexi Wood, I am currently an sophmore at Midwest Central High School , where I am the starting 3rd baseman . I am a hardworking softball player. I'm truly dedicated to this sport. I'm an athlete who knows the game of softball. My most important accomplishments was being selected to be on the Elite team for Softball Youth. I have grown up playing the game of softball. After being around the game my entire childhood, since my mom has played and continues to play. This is when I knew that I wanted to play the sport. Since then, I have been working incredibly hard and I have been blessed to work with some of the best coaches who have truly shaped me into the player I am today.
I started playing on my middle school team as a 5th grader and was a starter. I continue playing with them and was the starting pitcher both my 7th and 8th grade year. I have also played with the high school team in their fall league over my 7th grade into 8th grade summer.
I have continue to grow as an all-around player. I have not only continue to grow as a pitcher and 3rd baseman but I have learned to play all the positions on the field. I work hard completing all my school work and I also have hitting lessons, pitching lessons and plus my workouts that I do on off days. I have also recently started helping coach the younger girls in my community. This has taught me the disciple needed to be able to be a success student athlete.
I have learned and currently learning many qualities along the way such as leadership, time management, caring for your teammates and bonding with them, determination, humbleness, confidence, and more. I absolutely love to bond and become the best of friends with my teammates by spending time with them over the summer and fall.
Playing softball has let me grow so much, not only as a player, but as a person as well. I strive to be challenged academically and also athletically as I love to play harder teams.
