Personal Statement
Hello. My name is Morgan Stamm and I will be a 2016 graduate of Orangeville High School in Orangeville, IL. I have been playing travel softball for 7 years and currently play for the Stateline Fury Elite 18U team out of Rockford, IL. The head coach of my Fury team is Jeremy Olivotti.
I am an outfielder with my secondary position being second base. I am a slapper and really enjoy putting the pressure on the defense by forcing them to pick their poison... stay back and allow me to bunt or soft slap and I will beat out the throw with my speed or take away the short game and allow me to blast a line drive through the infield.
In my Freshman year of high school, I started all Varsity games and was voted 2nd Team All-Conference with the most stolen bases in the conference. In 2013 and 2014, we lost in the Sectional Championship. In 2014, I was voted 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-Area, and 1st Team All-State. My high school team has a goal of at least one state championship over the next two years.
Academically, I am in all of the most advanced courses that are available to me and I am a 3.1 GPA student that participates in Student Council, Servant Leadership, National Honor Society, the school musicals, and choir. I am interested in Sports Medicine, Biology, and Chemistry so I am thinking a career in the medical industry is what I would like to pursue.
I would love to play college softball so I can keep playing the sport I love while in a team environment and sisterhood that I love so much. I think it will make my college experience so much better.
