Personal Statement
I have been playing softball ever since I was six. I have played on numerous recreational teams, school teams, and travel teams. I have started Varsity since my freshman year at third base. However last year, my coach asked me to practice pitching because our team only had one pitcher. I agreed and was thrown in to pitch a few games either when our pitcher was struggling or injured.
I was also selected to play in the Star North vs. South Game, based on my high school performance. I am now playing for the travel team, Indiana Smoke. I am their starting pitcher and play third base as often as possible. I am a strong utility player and play wherever needed to better fit my team without question. My quick speed and agility enhance my base running and overall game. I try to be a leader and set examples of a positive attitudes and hard work to the younger girls during every practice and game.
Along with athletics, I am strongly involved in academics as well. All throughout high school I have been taking honors courses, and have always been on the honor roll. I am continuing to take all AP and honors classes this year. Although it is difficult because I play both softball and volleyball, I understand that grades are most important and I strive to maintain them. I am very passionate about softball and have a deep love for the game.
