My name is Katherine Alexander. I am a 2024 graduate and have been playing for the Damascus Softball Association since I was 7. Throughout my whole family, softball has played a major fundamental role. My Grandfather, Dad, and Aunt have coached college and elite travel softball for over 20 years and two of my aunts played for Bowie State University. As the oldest child of 5 girls and the oldest grandchild of 11, having these role models who were excited to continue the Alexander softball legacy was what started my career. I have continued to overcome valleys, eagerly learn from experienced coaches, and have important skills instilled into my everyday life, such as hard work, dedication, leadership, humility, working with others as a team, and confidence in my God-given abilities through this exciting game. My Dad and aunts have taught me valuable lessons through both support, advice, and example when it comes to balancing sports, academics, family life, and work. I also spend the few hours of free time I have working in my community. Whether it's working local jobs, babysitting, assistant coaching our younger Damascus teams, or assisting relatives and/or their young friends that have special needs I always give 110% effort. In all these things, I owe the vast majority of my skills and mindsets to softball. Softball is more than just a game to me; it's my whole life.
