Adeline Sewack '20 Recruiting Profile

    Academics and softball have always been an essential part of who I am.  Since I was young, I have been determined to succeed both in school and on the field.  I put in long hours devoted to my studies as well as working beyond team practices to continue to improve.  Being part of a team is the best part of playing softball because even though it is a very individual sport, I love working with my friends to achieve a goal or motivating them to achieve their own personal goal.  I look forward to being a captain my junior and senior year so that I can be even more of a leader for my teammates. 

    There were crucial experiences in my life where I realized that I could compete and excel in softball and in school.  When I was 13, I advanced to the Red Sox Team Championship for the Pitch, Hit, and Run at Fenway Park.  Getting to participate in that showed me that I could compete at a higher level of softball.  The same type of experience happened when I was accepted to a very competitive high school, Noble and Greenough.  I had always done well in school, but this proved to me that I could handle much more and that I loved the challenge.  These things have made me a determined athlete and student who puts in work outside of practice and classes to get better.  In college, I want to continue to get good grades as well as play softball.  Going to Nobles has helped me to learn how to balance difficult schoolwork as well as softball.  I love being able to talk about academic challenges or successes with my athletic team because we are all working together to help each other improve.
