I have been playing softball my whole life and I love the game. It has shaped me into a better person and has always been an outlet for me. I transferred from a vocational high school to a public school and was nervous, anticipating how the adjustment to a new school and softball team would go. My first year there, I became a captain and was invited to the SCC Leadership Workshop where I learned a lot about becoming a good leader for the team. As well as this, I organize team bonding activities and was asked to coach a recreational 14u softball team in Rochester, MA.
For as long as I can remember, my dream was to play softball at a higher level and share my love for the game with as many people as I can. I always give thanks to my dad, who has been my pitching coach, and my club coach Ernie who has furthered my love for this sport and helped me gain confidence in myself and my skills as a leader.
I want to pursue a career in softball and do as much as I can with it. After college, I would love to coach the sport and help as many girls as I can. I ave always shown great appreciation and admiration for my coaches and looked up to them. One day, I want to be that person for a team. I want to stay involved in softball for as long as I can, playing, being part of a team, or coaching.
