Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Jessica Martin, I am a junior at Winthrop High School in Winthrop, Massachusetts. I love softball. I started playing baseball when I was 8 years old and transitioned to softball 5 years ago. I am currently playing on my varsity high school team. My positions are catcher, third base and shortstop. I have also been playing on The New England Storm Junior Olympic Tournament team for the past 5 years. This year I am currently the New England Storms U18 teams #1 catcher, third baseman and shortstop. I have also played on the following teams through the years: East Boston Diamond Girls, Marblehead Magicians, Winthrop High School Junior Varsity/Varsity, East Boston Waves, Bay State Riptide, Northeastern Quicksilver. Over the past several years I have taken numerous catching clinics with Tuft's University's Three Time All American Jo Claire and hitting clinics with Tuft's University Cheryl Milligan. I have always wanted to play college softball ever since I started playing softball. I have always gotten really good grades. My current GPA is 3.8 and I am currently a member of the National Honors Society.
