Hi coach I’m Maddy; I am a junior at Flushing High School located in Flushing, Michigan. For as long as I can remember I have always been involved in sports. I played soccer for seven years and volleyball my eighth grade year on my school team. I have been playing softball for 5 years now, as soon as I joined my first team I was addicted. I immediately started to progress and grow my skills to try to be the best I could.
Fast forward a couple of years into my career, I started thinking about what I wanted to do after high school. All I knew was that I wanted to play ball for as long as I could. That’s when I realized I want to continue my softball career into the collegiate level and will do whatever it takes to get there. I am very passionate about the game and will do whatever it takes to win. When I step onto the field I like to lead by example. For instance, I always challenge myself while giving 100% effort, I stay focused, never give up, and try my hardest to help everyone in need if they are having a bad game.
Just as important, I take my academics very seriously and know they will form my future. My eighth grade year I was inducted into the National Junior Honors Society. I have maintained a 4.0 throughout my previous two years of high school and plan to keep it that way. I am Vice President of my class and Vice President of my schools Rotary Club. I also participate in Student Council and Varsity Club. Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement, I hope to speak with you soon.
Respectfully,
Madalyn VanLandeghem
