Julia Zucks '20 Recruiting Profile

Being awarded All League and All Districts as a Freshman have been highlights of my life and something I never would have expected. When I think of what makes me happy, one of the big things is softball. It is my happy place. In college, I want to continue playing the sport I love. I love the intensity, the feeling that you always have to be on your toes and ready. I love the rush when you hit a hard line drive, and all you want is to make it to second base safe. I have known college softball is what I am meant to do since I started playing travel softball at 8 years old.

Recently, I asked some of my softball coaches and teammates how they would describe me as a player. My assistant high school coach, Dave Timm, said, “Julia is outstanding, hardworking, and a leader. I have coached for 23 years and she is the best catcher I have ever had.” Some of my teammates said that I am always having fun and keeping a positive attitude. “Julia is fearless. When she gets in the batter’s box, she is not afraid of anything,” a teammate said.

In college, I want to play for a coach that will help me push myself to the best of my abilities every day. I desire to have a team that always has my back, always encouraging me, and always pushing one another to play our best. I want a very strong sports program, while still getting a great education as my goal is to be a surgeon. I want to play with a team that will help me fulfill my dreams. With that being said, I want my four years of college softball to be some of the best years of my life, with a team will become a part of my family.
