Personal Statement
As a child, I grew up with siblings that were over six years older than me. I believe that because of that, I matured quickly and learned how to handle some situations better than other kids my age. When I first took up softball in 2016, I joined to play with my friends. I learned soon after that my love for the game ran much deeper. I experimented with the positions and I later learned that I tracked the ball well as a left fielder, I was tall and quick to be a first baseman, and had good speed and spins to be a pitcher. Throughout my softball years, I have surprised myself at my growth in all aspects. I am much stronger mentally, physically, and mentally than I ever thought I could be at this age. I have always strived to be the best I could be on and off the playing surface. I have always sought to stay above a 3.5 GPA in high school thus far, with the same goals for college. I take every day as an obstacle, I choose to climb a little higher up the mountain every day. Getting stronger in every aspect no matter how small. Some unique characteristics of me are that I have been told by numerous coaches that I am a very coachable athlete who is respectful, hard-working, and listens attentively. I have also been told that I am a natural-born leader who brings people together. I think it is the way that I know what it feels like to be excluded and I wouldn’t want any teammate of mine to feel like that.
