Personal Statement

Softball is one of the main passions in my life.  I started playing it at a very early age, and my love for the game only increases the more I play.  I really enjoy all aspects of the game, from the challenges of hitting and fielding to the great relationships I have built with teammates along the way.  I have always been a very competitive person as well, and softball really lets me bring that side out.  I am a pitcher, and I enjoy the challenge of giving it my all against every hitter I face.  My goal is to be able to showcase all of this at the highest level, which will be playing in college.

My education is just as important to me.  I have worked just as hard on my grades as I have on the field.  I have had a straight 4.0 GPA throughout grade school and middle school.  I look forward to the challenges of high school, and I know I will be just as successful.  I hope to be able to be a part of the NHS, and want to lay a solid foundation that will help me as I move on to college, where my ultimate goal, right now, is to go in to nursing.

I want to be the best I can possibly be, both on the field and in the classroom.  I look forward to getting an opportunity to prove myself in both areas, and representing a university the best way I can.

Training

  • Private Pitching training
  • 6 years
  • I worked with a private pitching coach, Sandy Carra, for the past 5 years. She has helped me improve every year, and has taught me to throw several different pitches, including a change up, drop ball, rise ball and screwball. I have since moved on to work with Jenn Newman, and she has taught me the proper mechanics I need to make all of my pitches better. She has also worked with me to help make me stronger as well.
  • Private hitting lessons
  • 3 years
  • I have been working with a private hitting coach for three years now. His name is Shawn Maloney and he has greatly improved my approach, my stance and my swing, which has allowed me to be very successful at the plate during games.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
