Since I was barely able to talk, I would sit in the stands of my sister's games, watching as the girls would throw themselves onto the field and give everything they could. I remember thinking to myself that I wanted to be just like these girls and I can clearly remember the spark inside of me when I started to practice with my parents shortly after I watched my sister's team. Thirteen years later, I still find myself spending countless amounts of hours, putting in work for a sport I absolutely adore. When I step out onto the dirt field, I notice that my stress washes away and I can fully engage myself in the game and come out with a more positive attitude. Early on, I found that my main personal value that I like to keep in my head throughout games and practices is integrity. I keep this in mind because integrity comes with many aspects such as, dependability, responsibility, consistency, and commitment which all encompasses the type of person I aspire to be as a teammate, athlete, and a person in general. All of my life I have been designated to be the teammate to help keep my team's head high and I am a passionate believer of never giving up. My coach can always count on me to be the player to talk to others to make sure we stay as a team and pick each other up.
Softball has helped me find who I truly am as a person and I can not be more grateful for it because I now know that this could help me in the future with my job, relationships, etc. Currently, my goal is to major in Biology and eventually go to Dental School to become an Orthodontist. I learned through softball that I would go through many extremes to achieve what I put my mind to which can be very useful with the high standards I hold myself to and the goals I wish to achieve.
