I would say that for a softball program, I am looking for honesty, communication, and no drama. I love when coaches can be honest and upfront with players. I also like communication with coaches in general because there is a certain respect shown there that helps me grow and connect easier. Also, a goal that my teams I play on have is “no drama”. That is an easy way to lose focus and break down a group. Coaches that, try to, catch it right away and shut it down are what I like. As a student, I really want to soak up information. I want to continue to grow and not become complacent. I want to try and keep a competitive academic mind, but I want to compete with myself more than anything. As an athlete, I want to see how good of a player I can be. I don’t want to have regrets either. I want to become better at scooping at 1st base, and offensively I want to recognize and swing at more outside pitches. I like to really learn small details in practice so that I can continue to keep a clear and simple mind during games.
