2017 Amanda Frits...Personal Statement
Amanda is a bright student, gifted athlete and great teammate. Amanda has many nicknames, but one of her favorites was given to her by her coaches – “little coach” since she loves to help others succeed.
Amanda was selected to her High School Varsity team as a freshman in 2014 and continues to start each game in 2014 and 2015. One of only two players selected. She bats 4th or 5th and is currently leading the team in OBP.
Amanda was the only freshman on her 18 Gold Travel team and she typically starts at Short Stop or Second for the team. She plays for Norcal Firecrackers 18 Gold. Their team competes against the best in the nation.
In April 2014, Amanda attended an Elite Softball camp of 120 players. She tested #2 out of 120 in her testing scores for throwing, bat speed, 10/20/40 yard dash. Her highest ODM for OnDeck Softball was 90, one of the highest in the country.
Working with Coach Taylor from the University of Nevada Softball, Amanda’s hitting has gone from consistent to powerful. She is truly a threat to put one over at every at bat.
Amanda has begun her search for a college as an 8th grader. At UCLA Elite Academy with 20 players from around the country, Amanda won the “Last Bruin Standing” competition as a 13 year old, competing against 13 to 17 years olds. She was also one of only two players to hit the ball over the outfield fence during batting instruction.
Her goal is to play softball in college while completing a Business Marketing Degree.
