My name is Jordan Mecham and I am a 2013 graduate. I am 5'8, 170 lbs. I have been playing softball since I was five years of age, loving absolutely everything about the game. I fell in love with pitching at seven watching Cat Osterman play for Texas and go onto a professional fastpitch superstar. The most important lesson I have learned from the game is teamwork; together individuals can achieve more than one man could ever dream of achieving alone. The unity of a team, I have learned, that anything is possible. Throughout my career I have been on many teams, adjusting and flexing to the various needs of each. I make my team better by making myself better; always arriving early and leaving late, pushing myself along with my team towards victory. Leadership is a quality that seems to come very easily to me due to the internal drive that seems to spread like a disease onto my teammates. Only humble people really win in the end and I would never let my ego get in the way of the ultimate goal. Prior to high school I have won two state championships with my summer softball team as the starting pitcher and one my freshman year bringing a total of three back to my small hometown. My freshman year of high school I made the varsity softball team, receiving an All League Honorable Mention award and Rookie of the year. My most successful year has been my senior and junior year. I lead my team to the State Championship, receiving First Team All League pitcher, and First Team All State pitcher. We came up a little short taking runner up. Senior year we unfortunately did not make it to state, but put up an incredible fight. Ending my high school year I was awarded First Team All State and First Team all league. Playing college softball has been an aspiration of mine since grade school. The division never really has mattered as long as I get to play; softball is softball. I have been set on a major in criminal justice for as long as I remember, planning to make a career in law enforcement. Committing to Dodge City Community College January 2013 I began my adventure into college softball. Playing for the Lady Conqs has been such an honor. Ending my freshman season I had an ERA of 3.26 with 110+ strikeouts. The transition from high school to college was a challenging expedition, but I have grown in my abilities as a student athlete tremendously. Going into my sophomore year and last year at Dodge I have began my search to move onto another program. Please contact my college coach Howie Smith for any information or visit dc3.edu/athletics for my individual stats. Thank you for your time.
